Architecture

Architecture and Technology Function (team-arctec)

The Architecture and Technology function supports the W3C Director to ensure that the technologies developed in our Working Groups hold together cohesively.

Specific responsibilities include

1. Working with the Strategy Function to determine which specifications are core to the Web and should be done in W3C and which are better done in partner organizations
2. Working with and supporting the TAG
3. Providing guidance on technology choices to WGs
4. Coordinating Horizontal Review of W3C specifications for accessibility, internationalization, privacy, and security

Architecture and Technology is the “home” of several Technology Specialists who are the subject matter experts in specific areas important to fulfilling these responsibilities.
